We are a group of painters from different parts of India, had held an exhibition at Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur, Rajasthan on 7th dec 2012, the exhibition would continue till 13th Dec. on the 4th day of the exhibition the authority of Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur, Rajasthan has removed my 6 paintings.
the address of Jawahar kala kendra
On 11th Dec. the Programme officer Kishore Singh has brought down 6 paintings from the wall of the gallery and taken to his office. Later, when we went to meet him he says he has got order from his superior, an I A S officer. On 10th at night Rajasthan ETv had broad casted my paintings and had discussion/ talk show on my paintings as some of them think my works are vulgar. All these Mr Kishore Singh told me, and he said you can take back your paintings anytime from my office. I felt insult; I did not argue with him, I said later I will collect them .
I have come from Kolkata, on 13th we shall return to our home.
I have question:
1. why and howwithout written notice the authority has taken away my paintings from ongoing show? the show was on its 4th day, and the gallery was on rent.
2. Why he never likes to give me written document about this incident and what ground he removed my paintings.
3. What will happen to my loss? why he would not compensate ?
I protest this incident. The authority without any valid reason has removed my paintings, the authority has violated my human rights—freedom of expression. I wish you people would take an action and support me and my works
Thank You
