The most expensive private home ever built offers a breathtaking view of the Arabian Sea on one side -- and overlooks the stinking slums of Mumbai on the other.

Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani, 53, says he plans to move his wife, three children and mother into his new $1.9 billion, 400,000-square-foot mansion later this month. The bizarre, Lego-like structure, named Antilla, rises 570 feet above Mumbai -- a city generally lacking in skyscrapers -- and locals are calling it an "eyesore."

The building's odd shape is derived from a demand by Ambani -- whose estimated worth is $27 billion -- that each story be made using different plans and materials, with styles and architectural elements tying it all together.

At $1.9 billion, Mukesh Ambani’s “Antilla” — the most expensive private home ever built — comes with some snazzy amenities.
* 3 helipads
* 9 elevators
* Private health club
* Crystal ballroom
* 168 parking spaces
* A full-time staff of 600
